Directions: In Waterloo, Black Hawk Co. The park is along U.S. 218 just east of its meeting with Hwy. 58, on the north edge of the Cedar Falls-Waterloo area. U.S. 218 is well-marked for finding the park. Once in the park, turn left and follow the road as it skirts the first lake and continue as far west as possible including eventually a sharp curve leftward, taking you back east. Follow this road to its end at the shelter. Next walk the trail through the birdfeeder area, which is just beyond the shelter from its left side. Take a short left at the crosspath you come to and then a right at the next crosspath, and begin to look for cedars on the left side, some closer, some farther in. The owls have traditionally been in one of these groups along the trail.
