The library of bird songs is directly connected to Xeno-Canto and will only get better as more people contribute their recordings. The Rare Birds of Iowa  (IOU Records Committee) site is chock full of information, photos, and articles on rarities recorded in the state over the years.

Our "Activities for Elementary Students" is a series of modules that may be used by teachers, scout groups, etc. to engage younger people in learning about birds. These are derived from the activity book published in 1997. You don't need to be a young person to enjoy some of this content!
