Wayne County Short-eared Owl Locations

by Aaron Brees
County Map

This map is hand drawn and may not always be to scale. ALL owl spots shown are on private property and must be viewed from the road. The turn off from Highway 2 is on South West Street opposite Wayne Community High School. South West Street becomes 135th when it leaves the south side of Corydon. The route shown is also good for Great Horned Owl, Northern Harrier, Rough-legged and Red-tailed Hawks, American Kestrel, Wild Turkey, Ring-necked Pheasant, Loggerhead Shrike, and Lapland Longspur(around areas 3 and 4). Timing is extremely important. The owls are often visible for only a short period of time before it gets too dark to see.
